Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare technology company, the remote Senior Cloud Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls across a highly regulated AWS cloud environment, focusing on securing applications and infrastructure containing Protected Health Information (PHI).

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls and automation for AWS environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to establish cloud security guardrails and secure infrastructure standards
• Serve as a technical leader and escalation point within Security Operations, addressing security incidents and vulnerabilities

Required qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or related areas
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS security engineering experience in compliance-driven environments
• Deep experience with AWS services such as VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and EKS
• Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITRUST CSF, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks
• Production-level experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
