Senior Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient coding practices in a remote environment, the full-time Senior Coding Specialist (Psychiatry/Dermatology Coding Exp) will review, assign, and abstract diagnostic and procedural codes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing training to staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows to prioritize complex coding tasks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Utilize coding classification systems to ensure accurate code selection and address documentation gaps
• Provide guidance to coding staff on complex coding scenarios and stay updated on coding regulations

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Certifications such as Certified Coding Associate or Certified Professional Coder from recognized organizations
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and outpatient facility coding
• Strong understanding of compliance regulations related to coding practices
