Senior Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient coding practices in emergency medicine, the full-time remote Senior Coding Specialist will review, assign, and abstract diagnostic and procedural codes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing training to staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows to organize and prioritize complex coding work
• Utilize coding classification systems to ensure accurate code selection and identify documentation gaps
• Provide guidance and support to coding staff on complex coding scenarios and stay updated on coding regulations

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant work experience in coding
• High School Diploma or GED
• Certifications such as Certified Coding Associate or Certified Coding Specialist from AHIMA
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and outpatient facility coding
• Proficiency in compliance regulations and coding guidelines
