Senior Compiler Performance Engineer
Job Summary
Owning major performance areas of the Falcon compiler, the full-time Senior Compiler Performance Engineer will design and implement optimizations, drive code generation quality across platforms, and investigate performance issues, working in a hybrid or remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own performance of Falcon for specific workloads or optimization areas, from analysis to validation
- Design and implement new optimizations and enhance existing ones in the compiler's middle and back end
- Drive code generation quality on x86_64 and AArch64 platforms, including adaptation to new hardware
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in developing optimizing or JIT compilers
- Strong C++ design and coding skills in large codebases
- Proven track record of delivering compiler optimizations with measurable performance impact
- Deep knowledge of compiler optimization theory and practical tradeoffs
- Strong performance analysis skills with profilers and hardware counters
