Senior Configuration Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs applications, the full-time Senior Configuration Engineer will manage software configuration management tools, oversee cloud migration efforts, and ensure compliant build and deployment processes while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software configuration management tools to support both internally developed and commercial-off-the-shelf software products
- Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks, ensuring new software products comply with standard configurations
- Lead and train junior analysts/engineers in configuration management best practices and provide technical guidance on complex problems
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in software configuration management and release engineering within large, regulated enterprises or federal environments
- Deep expertise in CI/CD tools and scripting for automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
- Experience with source control systems and branching/merging strategies
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position, along with the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
