Senior Data Consultant
Job Summary
To support a client engagement focused on modernizing an Azure Synapse data platform, the remote Senior Data Consultant will evaluate and refine Microsoft Fabric architecture, design metadata-driven ingestion frameworks, and migrate data workloads into a modern lakehouse environment.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and refine the existing Microsoft Fabric architecture and metadata structures
- Design and implement a metadata-driven ingestion framework for onboarding new tables and sources
- Migrate prioritized data sources and workloads from Azure Synapse into Microsoft Fabric
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with Azure Data Services, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse
- Hands-on experience in production environments with Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouses and pipelines
- Strong experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable data ingestion frameworks
- Experience developing Spark notebooks and data transformation workflows using PySpark and Spark SQL
- Proficiency in SQL for data transformation, validation, and performance tuning
