Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Data Engineer will design and evolve data architecture for a Media & Entertainment organization, focusing on data ingestion, normalization, and transformation from multiple sources while utilizing AWS and related technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement data architecture for real-time and batch data movement primarily within AWS
- Build and manage normalization and transformation pipelines for data from approximately 10 external sources
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to define data retention strategies for historical analysis and forecasting
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS as the primary working environment
- Proficiency in streaming and change-data-capture tools such as Kafka, Flink, and Debezium
- Experience with various source databases including SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgres
- Familiarity with lakehouse architecture and tools like Iceberg, AWS Glue, and Lake Formation
- Proficiency in Java or Python for data application development
