Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Joining a transformative team, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will design and maintain robust production pipelines using PySpark and SQL, ensuring data quality and reliability while working remotely from the Chicago area.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production data pipelines and reusable data assets for analytics and BI
- Own data quality through contracts with upstream producers, automated checks, and anomaly detection
- Tune pipeline performance and optimize Redshift for efficient data processing and storage
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production data pipelines
- Proficiency in PySpark and advanced SQL for complex data manipulation
- Solid cloud experience, preferably with AWS
- Strong data modeling skills, including dimensional design and medallion-style layering
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
