Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Taking charge of a key part of the Navigator data platform, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will lead the architecture and technical planning for major platform components, manage cross-team technical delivery, and build data pipelines to support operational decision-making in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own a major platform component, defining its architecture, interfaces, and technical goals while anticipating future needs
- Lead technical delivery across teams by clarifying requirements, managing dependencies, and guiding the work process
- Build data pipelines and products, planning and executing ingestion, transformation, and serving processes for operational telemetry
Required qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 12+ years of relevant experience
- Proven track record of building and operating production software, data platforms, or distributed systems
- Extensive experience with distributed processing systems like Spark, relational databases, and production ETL processes
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience leading complex investigations and establishing production quality and operational practices
