Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the Scala and Spark application framework, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will maintain and enhance the enterprise data processing system supporting Medicaid Encounter Processing while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the Scala/Spark application framework and ensure its reliability and operational continuity
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of business rules using the Drools Rules Engine
- Coordinate production issue investigations, application defect resolutions, and performance tuning
Required qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in developing enterprise-scale distributed data processing applications
- Strong hands-on development experience with Scala and Apache Spark (2.x and/or 3.x)
- Experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) 7.x or equivalent enterprise Hadoop distributions
- Proficient in SQL development and query optimization
- Experience supporting Linux-based production environments and troubleshooting distributed Spark applications
