Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support client organizations in managing and leveraging their data effectively, the remote Senior Data Engineer will lead data engineering projects, ensure alignment across teams, and mentor junior engineers while focusing on data architecture, warehousing, and optimization.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee various data engineering projects, bridging technical gaps and making effective decisions in complex situations
- Contribute to cross-team alignment by translating technical concepts for non-technical colleagues
- Ensure complex engineering projects are delivered in alignment with business outcomes while mentoring team members
Required qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role, focusing on data pipeline design and development
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; familiarity with Scala and Rust is a plus
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes
- Intermediate to expert proficiency with data integration/orchestration platforms like Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory
- Experience with at least one cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake or Google BigQuery
