Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support a mission-critical healthcare platform, the contract Senior Data Engineer will lead the technical aspects of Medicaid Encounter Processing, focusing on the development and maintenance of distributed data processing applications using Scala and Apache Spark, with flexibility for remote or onsite work in Lincoln, NE.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the technical management and operational support of the Medicaid Encounter Processing data platform
- Develop and optimize distributed data processing applications utilizing Scala, Apache Spark, and Apache Hive
- Oversee enterprise data ingestion pipelines and manage business rules with Drools Rules Engine for compliance and agility
Required qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in developing enterprise-scale distributed data processing systems
- Advanced proficiency in Scala development
- Extensive experience with Apache Spark (2.x or 3.x) for large-scale data processing
- Hands-on experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP 7.x) or similar Hadoop distributions
- Proficiency in SQL development and query optimization
