Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support Mode Mobile's data platform, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will architect and develop large-scale data systems that process billions of events daily, ensuring reliability and scalability while working in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and lead the development of data pipelines and streaming systems for real-time and batch processing
- Own and maintain data systems in production, focusing on uptime, reliability, and proactive risk management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver impactful solutions while mentoring other engineers
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with live production data systems in high-scale environments
- Expert-level SQL skills and hands-on experience with technologies such as Spark and Kafka
- Experience with AWS services and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
- Proficiency in at least one data engineering language, preferably Python
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT design patterns, and scalable data architectures
