Job Summary
Owning and operating data pipelines, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will maintain and enhance Tala's data synchronization infrastructure, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of data to Snowflake while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and improve data synchronization infrastructure for accurate data delivery from market-level databases into Snowflake
- Identify and implement performance improvements to reduce latency and optimize infrastructure costs
- Establish service level objectives (SLOs) and implement monitoring and automated data quality checks
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in backend engineering or data engineering, ideally supporting consumer-scale applications
- At least 2 years of hands-on professional Python experience
- Proven experience in building and operating production-grade data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with change data capture (CDC) and stream processing technologies such as Kafka
- Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, particularly Spark Structured Streaming
