Senior Data Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Managing a team of data engineers in a hybrid work environment, the full-time Senior Data Engineering Manager will oversee the development and operation of enterprise data platforms, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a data engineering team, focusing on talent planning, performance management, and team effectiveness
• Guide architecture and implementation decisions while collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable platform capabilities
• Establish and maintain data platform standards, governance practices, and operational processes to ensure security, compliance, and quality management

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, information systems, or a related field
• 8+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or software engineering
• 5+ years of people-management experience with a focus on team objectives and performance management
• Demonstrated experience in designing and operating production data pipelines and platforms, including data lake architectures
• Strong knowledge of AWS services such as S3, Glue, and Lambda, along with proficiency in SQL and Python
