Senior Data Modeler

Job Summary

To design and govern data models that support analytics and business intelligence, the full-time remote Senior Data Modeler will build a semantic layer, ensuring consistency in metrics and definitions across various BI tools and collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the semantic layer strategy by defining consistent metrics, dimensions, and business logic across BI tools
• Design serving-layer models as the authoritative source for business definitions, resolving ambiguities before they reach dashboards
• Audit existing reports and dashboards to reduce metric drift by consolidating divergent definitions into governed semantic models

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data modeling or a related field, including senior or technical lead roles
• Experience designing or maintaining a semantic layer or metrics layer for multiple downstream consumers
• Advanced SQL skills and a deep understanding of relational database design
• Experience modeling data within modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred
