Senior Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Driving the development of a robust data platform, the part-time to full-time Senior Data Platform Engineer will support the migration from legacy infrastructure, manage data quality and governance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the development of the data platform, focusing on ingestion, storage, transformation, and access as a self-service product
- Support the migration from legacy data infrastructure to the new platform, ensuring decommissioning of the old system
- Manage data infrastructure as code and optimize system performance, cost efficiency, and resiliency
Required qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Data Platform Engineer or Data Engineer
- Strong Python skills with the ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
- Proficiency with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and experience with pipeline orchestration
- Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
