Senior Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Joining a dynamic team, the full-time Senior Data Platform Engineer will design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines, transforming complex healthcare datasets into reliable data assets while working remotely or in a hybrid model from San Francisco or New York City.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and optimize large-scale batch pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark, and Airflow on AWS
- Make storage and data layout decisions to ensure large datasets are fast to query and cost-efficient
- Ingest data from various external sources while maintaining pipeline integrity through frequent schema changes
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience building and debugging production data pipelines at multi-terabyte scale
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with a focus on performant, memory-efficient code for large-scale data processing
- Deep production experience with Airflow, including operating and scaling it effectively
- Proven experience designing and operating data systems in AWS
- Strong instincts for data correctness and production troubleshooting
