Senior Data Scientist

Job Summary

Owning the end-to-end domain-specific content modeling process, the full-time remote Senior Data Scientist will design and build NLP enrichment pipelines, evaluate various NLP approaches, and contribute to AI application development using scientific corpora.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement NLP pipelines for entity extraction, classification, and summarization from scientific texts
• Evaluate and compare traditional and modern NLP methods, selecting the appropriate tools for specific tasks
• Own the evaluation process by building golden sets, selecting metrics, and balancing speed, quality, and cost

Required qualifications

• Strong background in both classical and modern NLP techniques, including LLMs and transformers
• Proficient in Python for exploratory analysis and production-level coding
• Experience in evaluating NLP models and making informed decisions based on performance metrics
• Familiarity with scientific or scholarly text is a plus
• Knowledge of AWS services and data lake patterns is advantageous
