Senior Data Scientist (NLP)

Job Summary

Owning domain-specific content modeling work end to end, the full-time remote Senior Data Scientist (NLP) will design and build NLP enrichment pipelines, evaluate various NLP approaches, and contribute to agentic AI applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build NLP enrichment pipelines for extracting entities, classifications, claims, and summaries from scientific texts at scale
• Evaluate and compare traditional NLP methods and LLM-based approaches to determine the best tools for specific tasks
• Own the evaluation process by building golden sets, selecting metrics, and balancing speed, quality, and cost

Required qualifications

• Strong background in both modern and classical NLP techniques, with experience in building evaluations
• Proficiency in clean Python coding for both exploratory and production environments
• Ability to compare and defend the choice of NLP approaches based on evaluation results and cost estimates
