Senior Database Administrator
Job Summary
To support a growing cloud-native database environment, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will design, implement, optimize, and support PostgreSQL and MySQL databases on AWS RDS, ensuring high availability, performance, and security while collaborating with engineering and DevOps teams remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and manage PostgreSQL and MySQL databases in AWS RDS and Aurora environments
- Architect and support high availability solutions, including clusters and read replicas
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, optimizing queries and resource utilization
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of database administration experience, with 3+ years focused on PostgreSQL
- 2+ years administering MySQL in production, preferably on AWS RDS
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and AWS RDS MySQL
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning and troubleshooting in high-availability environments
