Job Summary

Joining a collaborative database administration team, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will focus on optimizing and migrating databases to AWS Aurora (MySQL) and AWS RDS (SQL Server), with responsibilities including query performance tuning and database code refactoring in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead query performance tuning and diagnostics for MySQL and AWS Aurora MySQL, optimizing execution plans and index strategies
• Analyze and refactor database logic, including stored procedures and views, to enhance execution efficiency and transactional throughput
• Collaborate with DBAs to execute schema refactoring and data migrations into AWS Aurora MySQL and AWS RDS SQL Server

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator, primarily with MySQL and secondarily with SQL Server
• 5+ years of experience in query performance tuning and index strategy optimization, emphasizing MySQL/Aurora
• Practical experience in analyzing and refactoring complex SQL code, including stored procedures and transactional logic
• 3+ years of experience managing or migrating database workloads on AWS Aurora (MySQL) and AWS RDS (SQL Server)
• 3+ years of experience with relational data modeling, schema conversion, and database architecture
