Senior Database Administrator
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will install, configure, and manage database systems, ensuring optimal performance and security in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems while monitoring and maintaining database performance
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and availability
- Collaborate with IT staff to troubleshoot database issues and maintain comprehensive documentation of database processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle and SQL Server
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements in cloud data architecture
- U.S. citizenship required for this position
