Senior Database Administrator
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will manage and optimize Oracle and SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and performance while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems while monitoring and maintaining database performance
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and conduct regular performance assessments
- Collaborate with IT staff to resolve database issues and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations and processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle and SQL Server
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position
