Senior Database Administrator
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will install, configure, and upgrade database management systems, manage database objects, and optimize database performance in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS) while monitoring and maintaining database performance
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
- Collaborate with IT staff and application developers to troubleshoot database-related issues and maintain comprehensive documentation
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional experience in database administration, particularly with Oracle and SQL Server
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management
- Experience with database design, architecture, and management tools
- U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity
