Senior Database Administrator
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will install, configure, and upgrade database management systems, manage database performance and security, and collaborate with IT staff in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems while ensuring optimal performance and security
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and availability
- Monitor database systems for performance issues and provide technical support for database-related challenges
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle and SQL Server
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management
- Experience with database design, architecture, and monitoring tools
- U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity
