Senior Database Administrator
Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated Senior Database Administrator to manage Oracle and SQL Server databases in a fully remote, full-time role, focusing on cloud-hosted database support for a Department of Veterans Affairs program.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, secure, monitor, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases
- Optimize database performance through query optimization, index management, and capacity planning
- Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
Required qualifications
- Minimum of five years of database-administration experience, preferably with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- Experience supporting Edifecs platforms or healthcare EDI environments is preferred
