Senior Database Consultant
Job Summary
Working remotely as a full-time Senior Database Consultant, the candidate will coordinate and implement database solutions, analyze customer infrastructure for operational improvements, and oversee backup and recovery procedures while providing support to a global team.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer database solutions, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
- Analyze customer infrastructure and recommend best practices for operational processes and procedures
- Administer backup and disaster recovery plans, proactively monitor systems, and troubleshoot operational issues
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a Database Reliability Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or production Database Administrator role
- Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming with Python or Go, including knowledge of the Django framework
- Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure design, deployment, and management
- Deep understanding of automation principles using Terraform and Unix/Linux system administration
- Practical experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and GKE
