Senior Database Reliability Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Senior Database Reliability Engineer will manage core database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security while collaborating with engineering and data teams on schema changes and automated data pipelines.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and take ownership of core database systems to ensure optimal performance and security
- Communicate critical data changes to the data warehousing team and shepherd schema changes from design to deployment
- Build and maintain automated test and deployment data pipelines, and proactively monitor for weak areas in production systems
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing MySQL/CloudSQL at scale
- Expertise in SQL and MySQL specifics, including schema design and optimization
- Deep knowledge of MySQL internals and replication
- Experience operating Google Cloud Spanner at scale
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent program
