Senior Databricks Data Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the data curation layer, the full-time Senior Databricks Data Engineer will build Gold tables, define the semantic layer in Unity Catalog, and implement data transformations while working remotely within the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Implement part and revision keying across multiple source systems to ensure consistent data representation
• Build Silver-to-Gold transformations in Databricks, applying data quality expectations and idempotent MERGE operations
• Define and publish the semantic layer in Unity Catalog, including metric views, table relationships, and business documentation

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, particularly with Databricks or a comparable lakehouse
• Proven experience in building a semantic layer using Unity Catalog or equivalent tools
• Strong understanding of PLM and MBSE concepts, including parts, BOMs, and requirements traceability
• Proficiency in PySpark and SQL, with experience in Delta Lake and medallion architecture
• Experience collaborating with engineering stakeholders to define data definitions and business rules
