Senior Databricks Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the operational layer of large-scale data platforms, the full-time Senior Databricks Engineer will implement governance and cost controls, configure Unity Catalog, and build cost attribution models while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Configure the Unity Catalog foundation and implement data classification and tagging approaches
- Design and implement cluster policies, budget policies, and serverless spend controls to manage compute costs
- Build cost and usage dashboards and document governance and cost standards for client operations
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in data platform engineering, cloud engineering, or platform administration
- Hands-on Databricks administration experience in production environments
- Practical experience with Unity Catalog, including access controls and governed tags
- Demonstrated ownership of platform cost management, including cluster and budget policies
- Strong SQL and working Python skills for querying system tables and building reports
