Senior Databricks Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the operational layer for large-scale data platforms, the full-time Senior Databricks Engineer will implement governance and cost controls, configure Unity Catalog, and ensure data classification and visibility in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Configure Unity Catalog foundation and implement data classification and tagging approaches
- Design and implement cost-attribution tagging and a chargeback model while building usage dashboards
- Support governance standards and document policies for client handoff and operational continuity
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in data platform engineering, cloud engineering, or platform administration
- Hands-on experience with Databricks administration and practical Unity Catalog knowledge
- Experience implementing classification-driven access and ownership of platform cost management
- Strong SQL and working knowledge of Python for querying system tables and billing data
- US citizenship and ability to work on client-furnished equipment
