Senior Director of Communications

Job Summary

Leading strategic communications for Amgen's Development organization and pipeline portfolio, the full-time Senior Director of Communications will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shaping integrated communication strategies that enhance understanding of scientific innovation and clinical progress while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communications strategies that strengthen understanding of Amgen's scientific innovation and drug development leadership
• Advise the Development Senior Leadership Team on executive visibility, organizational communications, and issues management
• Create compelling narratives that build confidence in Amgen's pipeline and support key development and regulatory milestones

Required qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 5 years, or Master's degree and 8 years, or Bachelor's degree and 10 years of communications or public relations experience
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare with a strong understanding of drug development
• Proven track record in leading strategic communications for complex scientific or business initiatives
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex science into engaging communications
• Experience in developing communications strategies that align with organizational priorities and support pipeline milestones
