Senior Director of Data Science

Job Summary

Providing senior strategic and technical leadership, the full-time Senior Director of Data Science will define and execute a multi-year modeling roadmap while overseeing the development of advanced machine learning models to support credit decisioning and portfolio management in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the multi-year modeling roadmap, establishing strategic priorities aligned with business objectives
• Independently design and develop advanced machine learning models for credit card acquisition and risk management
• Lead model-development projects from problem definition through production implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals

Required qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; PhD strongly preferred
• 7+ years of experience developing statistical or machine learning models, preferably in financial services or consumer credit
• Demonstrated expertise in Python and/or R, with strong SQL skills
• Experience with advanced ML techniques such as gradient boosting, ensemble methods, and neural networks
• Strong understanding of credit-risk concepts and the full model-development lifecycle
