Senior Director, Regulatory Counsel

Job Summary

Leading the legal strategy for consumer financial products, the full-time remote Senior Director, Regulatory Counsel will advise on product structure, manage regulatory compliance, and develop a high-performing legal team to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal strategy for banking, lending, payments, and subscription products from concept through launch and operations
• Advise on product structure, onboarding, disclosures, and pricing while balancing member experience with legal requirements
• Build and oversee a proactive regulatory monitoring program and manage senior legal relationships with banks and partners

Required qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
• 12+ years of legal and regulatory experience in consumer financial services or fintech
• Deep knowledge of consumer financial services laws and regulations
• Experience managing state licensing requirements and supporting regulatory exams
• Proven leadership experience in developing senior legal professionals and building accountable teams
