Job Summary
To lead the academic design of a Grades 6-8 Reading-to-Writing program, the part-time contract Senior ELA Curriculum Architect will establish curriculum architecture and academic direction, ensuring coherence and alignment across instructional materials while guiding internal curriculum developers.
Key responsibilities
- Design the overall Grades 6-8 ELA curriculum architecture, including Course Maps and Scope & Sequences
- Build a coherent Reading-to-Writing pathway, defining instructional progression and standards alignment
- Review and provide high-level academic direction and feedback on materials developed by the internal curriculum team
Required qualifications
- Significant experience in U.S. middle school ELA, literacy, curriculum design, or instructional leadership
- Demonstrated experience leading curriculum design at the program or multi-grade level
- Strong track record developing curriculum frameworks, Scope & Sequences, and instructional progressions
- Deep understanding of Grades 6-8 ELA and CCSS ELA standards
- Strong expertise in reading-to-writing instruction and evidence-based writing
