Senior Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Leading the Data Interoperability team, the full-time Senior Engineering Manager will build and scale a high-performing engineering team, oversee the delivery of Patient Access and Provider Directory APIs, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Build, scale, and lead a team of data and interoperability engineers, focusing on performance management and career development
- Drive technical strategy and oversee the design and implementation of scalable, real-time data pipelines and APIs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align interoperability work with company strategy and resolve tradeoffs
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability or health IT, including 3+ years managing engineering teams
- Expert-level knowledge of FHIR R4 standards and implementations, including experience with Patient Access APIs
- Demonstrated success in developing engineering teams and processes as organizations grow
- Experience integrating with multiple EMR systems and familiarity with national networks like Carequality and CommonWell
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, along with proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases
