Senior Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Managing a team of internal engineers and overseeing vendor development resources, the full-time Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for requirements intake, Jira backlog management, and ensuring successful sprint execution and production releases in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the flow from business stakeholder requests to structured Jira epics, stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring requirements are clear and understood by engineering
• Run daily standups and sprint planning, managing sprint velocity, release cadence, and change management for production releases
• Directly manage a team of internal engineers while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability, and maintain relationships with offshore vendor teams

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years in software engineering or engineering management, with at least 2 years directly managing engineering teams
• Experience managing vendor/offshore development teams alongside internal engineers, holding vendors accountable to sprint commitments
• Strong expertise in Jira and agile processes, including backlog management and running sprint ceremonies
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries, with an understanding of compliance contexts
• Excellent communication skills for translating between business stakeholders and engineers
