Senior Engineering Manager

Job Summary

The full-time Senior Engineering Manager will lead a small team of frontend engineers in a remote capacity, owning the vision for Headway's UI development, setting the strategy for the design system and web architecture, and collaborating closely with design and engineering leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a team of frontend engineers, ensuring high performance and collaboration across all areas
• Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the frontend architecture and design system
• Oversee the implementation of frameworks, tooling, and standards for web applications, including accessibility and performance metrics

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience in frontend development, particularly with React and modern web technologies
• At least 3 years of management experience, including hiring and performance management of engineers
• Proficiency in using AI tools for coding and a strong perspective on AI's role in frontend development
• Experience collaborating closely with design teams to translate design system decisions into engineering plans
• Demonstrated ability to align multiple product teams and manage competing priorities effectively
