Job Summary
The full-time Senior Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers to build and enhance the foundational platform at Fieldguide, overseeing core services, APIs, and developer tooling in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Building and managing a high-performing platform engineering team, including hiring and performance management
- Setting the platform vision and roadmap, prioritizing investments based on customer and engineering needs
- Owning the architecture strategy for product capabilities across various deployment environments
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a management role
- Significant experience in building product-facing platforms or foundational application services
- Proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineering talent
- Fluency with modern cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, and distributed systems
- Experience in setting technical strategy and driving alignment with cross-functional teams
