Senior Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading the Atlassian Guard engineering organization, the full-time Senior Principal Engineering Manager will own the engineering strategy and team health while driving the delivery of a world-class security product in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale a multi-team engineering organization, focusing on hiring, retention, and performance management
• Define and own the engineering vision and technical strategy for Atlassian Guard, aligning with broader platform goals
• Be accountable for the delivery of complex programs across multiple teams, ensuring quality and customer impact

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with 7+ years in engineering management, including managing multi-team organizations
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced SaaS/cloud environment
• Deep understanding of cloud security domains such as identity & access management and threat detection
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to engage in architectural decisions and system design
• Experience delivering enterprise-grade products with high reliability and scale requirements
