Job Summary
To lead software engineering efforts in device-side product areas, the remote full-time Senior Engineering Manager - Android will manage a team of engineers, oversee hiring and performance, and contribute directly to coding and technical best practices across various Android-based systems.
Key responsibilities
- Own engineering outcomes for device product areas, including field operations tooling and patient engagement technology
- Lead a mixed team of senior Engineering Leads and individual contributors, managing hiring, performance, and career growth
- Stay hands-on with code, conducting reviews and guiding teams on technical best practices while championing AI-assisted engineering practices
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Recent hands-on experience with native Android development using Kotlin and modern practices
- Experience with AOSP, customized Android ROMs, and managing Android device platforms
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and React-based front-end development
- Experience in managing blended teams of full-time and contract engineers
