Senior Firewall Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time remote opportunity, the Senior Firewall Engineer will define remediation strategies for detected attack techniques, translating blue team workflows into actionable product requirements while serving as the domain expert for firewall effectiveness and tuning.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product to develop concrete requirements for firewall effectiveness and tuning
• Maintain deep knowledge of major firewall platforms and define vendor-specific policy semantics
• Evaluate remediation outputs against established standards for correct firewall tuning recommendations

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in firewall engineering, network security, or related fields with hands-on experience in enterprise firewall platforms
• Strong understanding of network and SOC teams' use of firewall policy outcomes and traffic logs
• Demonstrated experience shaping a product as a domain expert in a security context
• Technical writing skills for creating requirements and documentation
• Basic scripting ability, ideally in Python, and comfort with SQL for data analysis
