Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer for a 6+ month remote contract, the successful candidate will focus on developing and maintaining flight and embedded Linux software for spacecraft, ensuring high-quality system design and operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop reliable software for embedded Linux applications and flight software supporting spacecraft operations
- Maintain embedded Linux build environments using OpenEmbedded/Yocto and integrate flight software interfaces with ground software
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers while participating in software design and code review processes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years of embedded development experience in Aerospace or a relevant industry
- Proficiency in C/C++ with strong embedded Linux experience, including application development and system integration
- Experience with OpenEmbedded/Yocto for maintaining embedded Linux build systems
- Understanding of flight-software concerns such as fault tolerance and operational reliability
