Senior GIS Developer
Job Summary
Combining strong GIS and software-development skills, the full-time Senior GIS Developer will design, develop, and support GIS solutions using QGIS and ESRI ArcGIS technologies, primarily focusing on server-based geoprocessing tools and automated data-update processes.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement server-based geoprocessing tools and automated data-update processes using Python and SQL
- Build QGIS plugins and custom forms to support data acquisition, editing, and system integration
- Manage and support Zayo's QGIS Custom Plugins while collaborating with the GIS Principal Software Engineer on tool innovation and architecture
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography/GIS, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
- 5-7 years of relevant GIS and software-development experience
- Advanced proficiency in Python for GIS automation and geoprocessing
- Strong knowledge of Esri's ArcGIS platform and web-development skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Hands-on experience with QGIS and PyQGIS, including creating plugins and custom processing tools
