Senior Global Category Manager

Job Summary

Leading the end-to-end commercial management and procurement governance for critical electrical substation equipment, the contract Senior Global Category Manager will work remotely on East Coast hours, managing supplier relationships, overseeing purchase order lifecycles, and driving cost negotiations across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary commercial owner for 5-6 strategic global suppliers of electrical substation gear and medium/low-voltage transformers
• Administer and negotiate supplier agreements, monitor category cost models, and manage purchase orders from creation through reconciliation
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate technical specifications into commercial commitments and forecast equipment deliveries

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, global category management, or technical procurement within complex global supply chains
• Strong procurement background in heavy electrical infrastructure, substations, or medium/low-voltage equipment
• Demonstrated track record in negotiating supplier contracts and managing purchase order lifecycles
• Experience managing multi-regional supplier bases across North America and Asia
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement platforms such as SAP, Coupa, or Oracle
