Senior Health Informatics Ontologist
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Health Informatics Ontologist will lead complex analytical projects, mentor junior staff, and provide expertise in biomedical ontologies and clinical data standards to support federal biomedical research and health IT programs.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex analytical and technical projects with minimal direction
- Mentor Associate and mid-level Informaticists through scientific and technical challenges
- Develop, curate, and maintain biomedical ontologies and controlled vocabulary resources
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in health informatics, biomedical informatics, or a related field
- 5 or more years of relevant professional or research experience
- Demonstrated experience developing or curating biomedical ontologies in a research or federal health IT context
- Working knowledge of major biomedical ontologies and controlled vocabularies
- Familiarity with semantic web technologies and their application to biomedical knowledge representation
