Senior HPC Communications Specialist

Job Summary

Leading the external communications strategy, the full-time Senior HPC Communications Specialist will manage a team to enhance NERSC's visibility and stakeholder engagement through writing articles, managing social media, and supporting media relations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead NERSC's external communications strategy in collaboration with management
• Research, pitch, and produce engaging science stories for diverse audiences
• Manage social media presence and analyze engagement metrics to address reputational concerns

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field, or a scientific/engineering discipline, with 8 years of relevant experience
• Experience translating complex scientific concepts into accessible content for educated audiences
• Proven track record in developing and implementing communications strategies for scientific or governmental organizations
• Familiarity with print and electronic publishing technologies and social media platforms
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments
