Senior IBM COBOL Developer
Job Summary
To support the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client, the full-time Senior IBM COBOL Developer will lead the development of software solutions, conduct unit testing, and provide guidance to other developers in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain IBM COBOL programs while ensuring they meet business requirements
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshoot issues to enhance software performance
- Consult with technical personnel to clarify program intent and suggest improvements or changes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of professional experience, or equivalent education and experience
- At least four years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language
- Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities, as well as CICS
- Must possess an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI)
- Preferred experience with IRS processing systems and SQL
