Senior Inland Marine Underwriter

Job Summary

To support a growing underwriting department, the full-time Senior Inland Marine Underwriter will manage a diverse portfolio, assess risks, determine premiums, and negotiate deals while working remotely or from specified locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain profitable Inland Marine books of business by writing new accounts and pursuing renewals
• Analyze data to determine risk selection, premiums, policies, and identify opportunities for growth and diversification
• Build and nurture relationships with agents and brokers, presenting proposals and negotiating deals effectively

Required qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in underwriting or multi-line insurance products
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter or similar designation preferred
• Strong command of insurance finance, actuarial concepts, and commercial insurance products
• Proficient in territory management and relationship building with agents and brokers
• Familiarity with continuous improvement processes and regulatory issues in relevant territories
